Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of CogentRun. By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the organisation you represent.
Last updated: September 15, 2026
1. The agreement
This agreement is strictly business-to-business (B2B) and is between you (the customer organisation) and CogentRun. Governing law and venue: India. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate organisation and contact details.
- You are responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 16 and authorised to bind your organisation.
3. What CogentRun does
CogentRun is an AI teammate for your Scrum team that works across the ticket, the pull request, and the release. Depending on what you connect and ask for, the service may:
- Generate end-to-end tests from plain-English instructions, tickets, or an exploration of your app.
- Execute those tests on cloud browsers and real iOS and Android devices, and return recordings, step screenshots, logs, and reports.
- Read an issue in your tracker and cross-reference it against your source code to flag missing rules, unhandled errors, and edge cases.
- Review an open pull request — its metadata, changed files, and diff — and report quality and regression risk.
- Draft BDD (Gherkin) scenarios from a requirement.
- Answer questions about how your product behaves, using your connected repositories and prior runs as context.
- Produce runnable Selenium or Appium scripts you can export and run on your own infrastructure.
All of the above is produced by AI and may be incomplete, wrong, or confidently mistaken.CogentRun is an aid to your engineering judgement, not a guarantee that your software is defect-free, secure, performant, or compliant, and a code review it produces is not a security audit. You remain responsible for every release decision.
Connected systems and automated actions
When you connect an issue tracker or a source host, you authorise us to read the tickets, repositories, branches, pull requests, and file contents that the access you grant allows, and to act in those systems on your behalf. That includes writing back — for example posting an analysis as a comment on an issue and attaching a report to it.
- You are responsible for the scope of the access you grant. Grant the narrowest scope that works, and use a dedicated integration account where your tooling supports one.
- If you enable webhooks, analyses can start automatically when an issue changes or a pull request is opened, without a person in the loop, and their results can be posted back automatically.
- You can revoke any integration at any time from organisation settings; automated actions stop when the authorisation is withdrawn.
- Content that reaches us from these systems is written by people other than you. See the disclaimer in section 9 about acting on it.
4. Acceptable use
You may only run tests against systems you own or are explicitly authorised to test. You must not:
- Test third-party sites, APIs, or apps without documented permission.
- Use the platform for load testing, denial of service, scraping, credential stuffing, or bypassing access controls.
- Upload malware, or content that is unlawful or infringing.
- Connect repositories, workspaces, or issue trackers you are not authorised to expose to a third-party processor.
- Present an AI-generated code review or QA report as an independent security audit, penetration test, or certification.
- Resell, sublicense, or expose the platform as your own service without a written agreement.
- Attempt to extract model weights, circumvent usage metering, or reverse engineer the platform.
- Use the platform from a country subject to comprehensive US, EU, or UK sanctions, or if you are a sanctioned party.
We may suspend runs or an account immediately where we reasonably believe this section is being breached or where a run threatens platform stability.
5. Fees, wallet, and billing
- Platform fee — USD 50 per month for the full platform and all features. Charged in advance and non-refundable except where required by law. Customers with an Indian billing address are charged the rupee equivalent, plus GST where applicable; every payment is invoiced.
- Usage wallet — test execution consumes wallet balance based on the AI and browser or device cost of each run. You top up in advance; we deduct as runs complete.
- If the wallet balance reaches zero, queued and new runs stop until you top up. The platform stays accessible.
- Wallet balance is prepaid credit for the service, is not a deposit, and is non-transferable. Refundability of unused balance: We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but you may cancel at any time to avoid future charges.
- Prices exclude taxes. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments; failed payments may pause the subscription after notice.
- Either party may cancel the subscription effective at the end of the current billing period.
6. Your content and ownership
You keep all rights to your applications, tickets, code, test instructions, and the artifacts your runs produce. You grant us a limited licence to host and process your content only to operate the service and support you.
To work well on your application over time, the service records what it learns about it — for example which selectors behave unusually on a given domain, and a map of your product's screens and elements. This derived knowledge is scoped to your organisation, is treated as your confidential content, and is deleted with your account.
Scripts the service exports to you are yours to run, modify, and keep, with no ongoing usage fee and no obligation to keep using CogentRun to run them.
We keep all rights to the CogentRun platform, its software, and its trademarks. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation.
7. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other's non-public information with reasonable care and use it only for this agreement. We will not disclose your content except to the processors listed in the privacy policy, or where legally compelled.
8. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but do not commit to an uptime figure unless stated in a separate written agreement. Planned maintenance is announced where practical. Support channel and target response time: email support, Monday–Friday 9:00am–6:00pm IST, target first response within 1 business day.
9. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI-generated output, and non-infringement. Third-party integrations (Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, device providers) may change or break outside our control.
Test verdicts, code review findings, generated scenarios, and answers about your product are advisory. A passing run is evidence that the checks the agent performed succeeded, not proof that a feature is correct; a review that raises nothing is not assurance that a change is safe to ship.
Ticket text, pull request contents, repository files, and the pages of the application under test are authored by third parties and are treated by us as untrusted input. We apply controls described on our security page to reduce the risk that such content influences the agent's behaviour, but we cannot guarantee it will not. Do not configure automated posting into a system where an unreviewed AI comment would cause harm.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits or data. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may terminate for material breach that is not cured within 30 days of notice. On termination we stop runs and delete your data as described in the privacy policy; download your reports before you leave.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will notify account owners by email before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the update.
